Starred in the indie film How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer

America is the daughter of immigrant Honduran parents and was raised by her mother in San Fernando Valley. She started acting at age eight and made her film debut in 2002's Real Women Have Curves. She won best actress at the Sundance Festival that year for her role as the independent teenager torn between her ambitions and her mother's idea of who she should be. In this role, America is the champion of plus-size, outspoken, and intelligent girls across the U.S.A.

In 2005, America starred in one mainstream movie and two independent roles. Most famously, she played Carmen in the screen adaptation of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. She was also featured in the film short 3:52 about an alcoholic struggling to become sober.

Currently, America is the star of the hit ABC comedy "Ugly Betty." She won a Golden Globe for her performance as the smart, compassionate, yet unfashionable Betty Suarez.

Model Crystal Renn
crystal39.jpg

Crystal Renn is a plus-size model who started her modeling career at age 14. She was told she needed to lose almost a third of her total body weight. This weight loss eventually triggered a health crisis (in 2003 she was down to a skeletal 98-lbs), and caused her to battle her eating disorder head-on. She eventually began eating normally and eventually put on 67 pounds. At 5'9", she is now 165-lbs and wearing a size 14.

Despite being bigger than the average model, Crystal started getting high level jobs like spreads in American Vogue and Italian Elle and in ad campaigns for Saks Fifth Avenue and Nine West. She became a favourite of fashion photographer Steven Meisel and currently has contracts with U.S. clothing retailers Lane Bryant and Torrid. Crystal also appeared nude in French Vogue's April 2005 issue, and garnered favorable media interest when she appeared on the runway for Jean-Paul Gaultier in his Spring/Summer prêt-á-porter 2006 collection in Paris.

Crystal said in the May '06 issue of U.S. Glamour "You don't have to have a Victoria's Secret body to be beautiful. Ninety-nine percent of women out there don't have that body!"
